Monthly, the WI Unit studies the Herb of the Month. One meeting is dedicated to the study of the International Herb Association's Herb of the Year™. Find your favorite herb on The HSA website, featuring a screen saver, herb recipes, history, and a few fun facts.
HSA's GreenBridges™ initiative encourages home and community gardeners to help support fragile natural areas by creating safe passage to native plants and pollinators. Each GreenBridges™ garden is a link in the chain across the nation, providing safe movement for the plants and pollinators that help maintain healthy ecosystems.
Membership in the WI Unit provides you with The Herb Society of America member discounts and special offers as listed on the Members Benefits page of their website. You will also receive the annual publication of The Herbarist, as well as access to The HSA website newsletters, blog, discounted on-line courses, seed exchange information, and free or reduced admissions to public gardens and arboreta throughout the United States.
Membership in the WI Unit helps to maintain the National Herb Garden at the National Arboretum. The National Herb Garden began as a gift to the people of the United States from The Herb Society of America and was constructed and dedicated in 1980. The largest herb garden in the United States showcases plants to enhance people’s lives, including flavorings, fragrances, medicines, coloring agents, and additives in industrial products. Visit their site for more information.
